Q: Does SHOW help if I make compounds one at a time?
A: No. For chemical synthesis applications, the advantage of SHOW is in parallel synthesis. Nevertheless, if you want to assemble a plate with compounds synthesized one by one, SHOW is helpful in guiding the plate assembling and the plate replication processes that may follow.
Q: Is there a sensor to confirm that sample transfer occurred?
A: No, but we may develop it if there is enough demand. An advantage of having a sensor is that the footswitch won't be needed. The disadvantage is that it increases complexity.
Q: Is the platform chemical resistant?
A: Yes. The plastic platform base is suitable for biological experiments. For chemical experiments, we can use glass for the base. The aluminum material is resistant to most organic solvents.
Q: Are the cables protected from chemical spills?
A: Not in this version, but we are adding a protective layer to the cables.
Q: If I stop in the middle of a run, how do I know if I have executed the current step?
A: You don’t know, but you may work around this limitation by always stopping before or after the current step.
